Matthew Scott Abernathy
Graduated in May 2013 with a master’s degree in marine science from Texas A&M – Galveston. His major field of study was marine resource management. Abernathy won scholarships an unprecedented three consecutive times from the Texas Outdoor Writers Association.
Anthony E. Bellmore
Graduated from Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pa., with a Bachelor of Science in marine biology with a minor in biological diving.
Joseph A. Bergstrom
Graduated with a Master of Business Administration from the University of Redlands, Redlands, Calif. He’s currently employed as a property administrator at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif.
Giancarlo Massaro Boswell
College Station, Texas
Graduated from Texas A&M University in May 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering. He recently accepted a position with Honeywell.
Jason N. Byrd
Received his Doctorate in Physics from the University of Connecticut and accepted a postdoctoral position at a theoretical chemistry institute in Gainesville, Fla.
Paul Neel de Leon
Completed his master’s degree in English from Georgetown University and will begin a teaching position at the U.S. Military Academy in the fall.
Elected Editor-in-Chief of the George Mason Law Review in 2010. He graduated from George Mason Law in 2011 and is an associate attorney at McNees, Wallace & Nurick LLC in Harrisburg, Pa.
Larry D. French Sr.
Elected Worshipful Master of Dormont-Whitehall Lodge #684 for the ensuing Masonic year beginning on St. John’s Day 2012.
Kenneth J. Hager, Esq.
Earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law in December 2012 and was admitted to the Pennsylvania bar to practice law. He was also selected as a fellow with the John Jay Institute for Faith, Society, and Law in Philadelphia, Pa.
Judge Joseph “Tad” Halbach
Selected as the 2012 Trial Judge of the Year by the Texas Association of Civil Trial and Appellate Specialists. Halbach is board-certified in civil trial law. He is judge of the 333rd District Court and the Statewide Silica MDL Judge for the State of Texas. A lifelong Scouter in the Sam Houston Area Council, Halbach has been honored with the Silver Beaver Award, the District Award of Merit, and the St. George Emblem for is leadership in Catholic Scouting.
Received a Bachelor of Arts from Yale University.
David T. Juratovac
Oregon City, Ore.
Earned a Bachelor of Arts in biology and a minor in psychology from St. John’s University in Minnesota. He has applied to dental school.
Cherry Hill, N.J.
Recently named one of the top 20 internal auditors under the age of 30 by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
Francis Eugene “Gene” Lewis
Valedictorian from his 2013 graduation class at Robert E. Lee High School. Lewis was offered admittance into several universities’ engineering schools and officially accepted admittance to Stanford University.
Arizona State Senator formed an exploratory committee to investigate a campaign for Governor of Arizona in the 2014 election. He is a third-term Senator and serves as chairman of the commerce, energy, and military committees. He founded the highly successful Mining Caucus and Tourism Caucus.
John Ryland Pigg Jr.
Graduated from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C., in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in statistics and a Bachelor of Science in financial mathematics. He then earned his Master of Business Administration with a concentration in finance at NCSU. He’s beginning his career at Blue Cross Blue Shield as an actuary.
Dr. Loren Reed
Little York, Ill.
Received his Doctorate of Medicine from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, where he was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He earned his bachelor’s degree in cell and molecular biology from Bradley University, summa cum laude. He’s completing his residency in emergency medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis.
Logan M. Skelley
The third-year medical student at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, was recently inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) Honor Medical Society. Skelley will serve on the Executive Committee for AOA for the academic 2013-2014 year.
Scott Lee Sonntag
Graduated December 14, 2012 from Texas A&M University’s School of Agriculture and Life Sciences with a Bachelor of Science in rangeland management and ecology.
Frank J. Visconi
Received his Juris Doctorate at the age of 66. Also has a B.A. and M.P.A. earned while working full-time in law enforcement after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps (’64-’68) including a tour in Vietnam (’65-’66).
Dee K. Waddell
Graduated with his Doctorate of Management from the University of Maryland University College on May 11, 2013. He also recently accepted the position of senior vice president and chief information officer with Universal Weather and Aviation Inc.
Graduated cum laude from University of California at Los Angeles, Calif., in 2009. Graduated from University of Iowa, College of Law in Iowa City, Iowa earning his Juris Doctorate in May, 2012. He passed the California State Bar Exam in November, 2012.
John Edward Wiges
Virginia Beach, Va.
Wiges is a rising junior at Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, and is one of two students who have been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Character Education Partnership (CEP), a national nonprofit based in Washington, DC. CEP works with schools across the nation to develop strategies that reinforce academic excellence and foster respect, responsibility, honesty, diligence, service, and citizenship. Wiges is majoring in foreign affairs.
